"COUGARS" -- women who date men more than eight years their junior

This trend is becoming more popular these days.

An older woman/younger man relationship can present a number of surprises and challenges.

Despite the challenges, several benefits and exciting opportunities come along with older women dating younger men.

By knowing some of the reasons that men search for older women and vice versa, you can better understand how one of these relationships can be successful.

You might even want to try it yourself.

Ok so I am 33yrs old and I get approached by young men all the time.

I actually have a 25 yr old pleading his case.

Thats how this article came about.

He suggested that I write about it.

So I looked into it and here it goes.

I myself don't really like the idea of dating a younger guy if the reason is for anything other than sex.

To me most younger guys are still in the field.

I am a mother, I am single, and I am not into casual dating and sexing anymore.

If you are 25, with no children, living at home or living alone.

You may have a decent job

You ma have a car

You may have a college degree

You may have a great sex drive

But other than giving me endless hours of great sexual pleasures what will we have in common.

Our experiences our struggles our times of living are so far apart.

I guess maturity, sensuous voice and charming personality can convince me  to take a chance and plunge into uncharted territory.


In the same way that older men enjoy dating younger women, older women also enjoy younger men.

I mean when you go out. Thats all thats really there.

Me and my best friend go out and all these young guys hit on me.

So I tell them I am 33 and they are even more on me.  WOW!!!!

What's this about?

I get so irritated my daughter is closer to your age than I am......


Roberta Flack acknowledges in a magazine interview that she is currently involved with a man 20 years younger than she. "He's only 32," she says, "but right now I like being with a younger man. Lionel gives me tremendous energy and he goes through life without being afraid."


 Older women must be more patient with the younger man's particular "stage of development" as well as his interests.

Older women should also consider the fact that much younger men are likely to have fewer financial resources.

 Some men even admit that they expect older women to totally finance the relationship.

"Cougar" the term originated in Vancouver, British Columbia, as a put-down for older women who would go to bars and go home with whoever was left at the end of the night.

But now, it's more positive -- describing women usually their in 30s and 40s, who are financially stable and mentally independent and looking for a younger man to have fun with.

Gibson, who is single but has been married five times -- the last time to a man 15 years younger -- describes cougars like herself this way: "She's in control. She's very attractive. And she's very sexy."

The National Association of Retired Persons released a survey in 2003 revealing that one-third of the single women between 40 and 60 are dating younger men. (But they didn't say how much younger.)

There may also be more cougars today because there are more men that love them.

Women are not only feeling younger, they are also acting younger and men are accepting them in their new personalities.

How does the younger man feel?

Does he introduce you to his family? His friends?

Does it make him uncomfortable?

What if someone ask you if that is your son?

How would you feel?

Think about these things.

Do you introduce him toy our children?

Your family?

Is he taken as a phase or something serious?

Some reasons why you should date a younger man

Great  Sexual Experience- A younger man usually can last a lot longer more endurance. Also more frequency .  Also they want to prove to you the older woman that they know what they are doing so the possibilities are endless.

FUN FUN FUN - The younger man is more adventurous  He does not have all the stress of not being where he wants to be in his life. He wants to get up and go. Younger men are out to conquer the world.

 Sensitive To Your Feelings - Younger men listen. I mean really listen.  I just know it is wonderful. They are also never afraid to show you their feelings, and hug and hold you when you need it.

 Great With Kids - Here's where their fun part really kicks in. They will play video games with your son.  Watch cartoons with them. Know the characters.  Maybe because it hasn't been so long since they were kids. They really are great with the kids, and have a good understanding of how they're feeling. Their especially great with the teenagers.

More Independent & Self Reliant - Most younger men have no problems doing for themselves, sharing the housework, and whatever responsibilities two people living together share. Most older men want their dinner cooked and want you to work, and clean. Most younger men do not expect this. BONUS!!!!
Maybe it's because a lot of the younger men grew up with moms that had to work.

Women are more likely to come back on the dating market because of divorce and a longer expected life span.Not as many women are looking for the picket fence and two cars. Now companionship, travel, and fun are coming to the forefront.

Women may also want a man with a less-developed career who could follow her or take care of children, if that is a factor.For their part, younger men often find older women more interesting, experimental, fun to talk to.

Okay so I am still not convinced but I am not afraid either. (AFRAID)

I guess at this point in my life what's wrong with at least dating......

If it does not work fine......

IF it does call me a "COUGAR"
